Suarez return fails to inspire Liverpool

Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez returned after a nine-match absence but failed to inspire Liverpool to victory in a cagey 0-0 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Monday.  Spurs manager Harry Redknapp, who hoped to fly to the match after the end of the day's court proceedings in his tax evasion trial, missed the game because of a technical fault that prevented his plane from taking off.  He did not miss a great deal of action but his team defended resolutely to leave Anfield with a point after failing to score in the league for the first time for 23 matches.  Spurs stayed third on 50 points, seven behind leaders Manchester City and five adrift of champions Manchester United.
