The former Fiorentina trainer refused to be downbeat about the loss to the North Americans and believes his side will still have a positive showing at this summer's tournament
Italy boss Cesare Prandelli has spoken about his side's 1-0 friendly loss at home to the United States, believing that his team should have come away with a win.
Italy fell in Genoa to a solitary strike from Clint Dempsey that saw the home side lose its first ever match to the USA.
Speaking immediately following the loss, Prandelli proclaimed his optimism: "It was an undeserved loss, but with this spirit we will have a great European Championship because I was happy with the squad.
"Obviously to play every three months is complicated, but I'm convinced that we will have a great Euro 2012."
The 54-year-old then commented on some of the individual performances, including starter Sebastian Giovinco and debutant Fabio Borini.
"Giovinco? He did good things and was dangerous one-on-one. Borini has determination, personality and alot more," he said, singling out the two forwards for praise.
Finally, when asked if he was concerned about the loss given how close the Euro 2012 is, Prandelli shrugged off the defeat.
"100 days from the Euros? I am absolutely not worried."
Italy take on the reigning European champion Spain in their opening match on June 10th.
