No feud between Napoli duo Cavani and Lavezzi - agent

The South Americans dovetailed wonderfully well together at the San Paolo earlier this week but it has been suggested that the two forwards have not been seeing eye-to-eye of late

Edinson Cavani's agent has rubbished a report claiming his client had fallen out with Napoli team-mate Ezequiel Lavezzi, revealing the pair had dinner together after Tuesday night's Champions League first-leg last-16 win over Chelsea.

It has been alleged that relations between the South American duo have become increasingly strained of late, but Cavani's representative, Claudio Anellucci, insists the pair continue to get along just fine.

"The rumours of a discord between them are completely unfounded," the agent told Radio Crc.

"So much so, in fact, that after the match with the English [Chelsea], we all had an amicable dinner together which El Pocho's [Lavezzi's] agent was also at."

Turning his attention to the 3-1 victory over the Blues, Anellucci felt that the Partenopei's success owed everything to the endeavour of the players and the motivational skills of their coach, Walter Mazzarri.

"Napoli ran more than Chelsea, always arriving first to every ball," he mused.

"Taken individually, the Chelsea players are of a higher level. But then you realise that Napoli are a team, while Chelsea are only good individuals.

"The great virtues that are sometimes not reflected in the attitudes of the coach are his humility and ability to make himself available to every member of the group, thus creating complicity through a union of purpose.

"The great merit of the entire Napoli staff is that they are able to create a balanced and solid squad."

Napoli must now defend their two-goal advantage when they travel to Stamford Bridge for the second leg on March 14.
